Our Process

Following is a step-by-step description of the process of developing a new web site for a corporate client.

1. Initial Consultation
   Some might refer to this as a "sales call" but it is our job at this point not to sell, but to listen to our potential client's goals and to learn about his or her business. We ask a lot of questions, not technical in nature, but focused on how the company markets itself, who are its customers, and what is unique about its products or services. We work with you to determine the best approach to your marketing and customer service challenges.
2. Proposal
   Next, we provide a detailed written proposal consisting of an outline for each step of the project, a timeline, and a total cost estimate.
3. Concept Design
   We will develop at least one, but in most cases two design concepts for client approval. These concepts will be displayed for client review as static graphics our Client Extranet.
   
   Each design concept is expected to advance the client's marketing and service goals by providing an attractive and professional image that is fast loading and easy for site visitors to use. Clients will communicate directly with our design staff to indicate aesthetic preferences and discuss graphic design challenges.
   
   Any Flash concept work will be integrated into the individual graphic concepts.
   
   All concept work (graphic and Flash) must be reviewed and approved before beginning the Site Construction stage.
4. Site Construction
   WebMedia will create a private web site consisting of static "lorem ipsum" filler text which will be replaced by client content during the Content Additions and Publishing stage of the project
   
   Once all pages have been constructed and are reviewed by both WebMedia and the client, the Programming stage can begin.
5. Programming
• Mock-Ups
  We will create templates for final pages and produce non-working mock-ups of data driven sections of the sites and the administrative user interfaces, which helps in finalizing features and anticipating needs for current and future software functionality.
• Development
  Software prototypes of data-driven and administrative sections of the sites will be developed and merged with the approved graphic design and interface elements.
6. Content Additions and Publishing
   All web site content (detailed in the General Site Structure) provided by the client, will replace all "lorem ipsum" filler text.
   
   After all stages of the project are complete, the web site will be reviewed by both the client and WebMedia to ensure that all the guidelines of the proposal have been met. Once the site has been approved, we can then publish the web site.
7. Web Hosting and Traffic Reporting (ongoing)
   Your web site is hosted on a high-speed web server connected to the internet in a state-of-the-art data center. Traffic reports, updated four times a day, are provided.
8. Site Maintenance (ongoing)
   If you need to update some information of your web site, simply e-mail one of our staff members, and we'll get started on it right away.
   
   If you'd like to be able to update your own site from anywhere that has an internet connection, we can tailor our Content Management System to fit your site's requirements.
